Join Our Energetic and Collaborative Team!
We are always on the lookout for visionary and ambitious scientists to join our multidisciplinary group, which is committed to maintaining a highly collaborative and supportive environment.
Postdoc – We are seeking applications for a postdoc who will be responsible for conducting NIH-funded interdisciplinary projects. These projects involve the synthesis and biological applications of diverse molecular tools (small molecules and oligonucleotides) toward establishing new-generation therapeutics. The postdoc will also be responsible for mentoring and academic writing (manuscripts and grants). Consideration will be given to candidates with proven expertise in nucleic acids chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and/or chemical biology. Applicants should be exceptionally driven and self-motivated
individuals with the highest commitment to excellence in scholarship. Applications are submitted through this link. The application must include i) CV, ii) cover letter (including technical details on how the candidate’s expertise can contribute to the research conducted in the Izgu Lab), and iii) three letters of recommendation. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
Graduate Students – Prospective students interested in joining the team must submit a formal application to Rutgers Graduate & Professional Admissions. We receive a large number of emails from applicants asking about the possibility of recruitment and advice. Please note that all candidates are evaluated by an independent departmental committee, and Dr. Izgu is unable to respond individual emails due to his limited bandwidth. For detailed information about the graduate program of Rutgers CCB, please visit this link.
Students accepted to the program can email Dr. Izgu to discuss research opportunities.
Undergraduate Students – Those in love with science and willing to gain hands-on research experience can send inquiries by email. The correspondence must include a transcript and weekly schedule. Please note that graduate students graciously spend time and effort training undergraduate mentees in the lab. Therefore, it is only fair that we expect the undergraduate researchers to share the responsibility of their project, actively participate in teamwork, and productively communicate with their mentor. Students should prioritize achieving a research milestone and expanding knowledge base throughout their commitment.
